Re: Football

Weird fact. The average age of the QBs left in the AFC is 24.9 and is the youngest ever in the Divisional Round playoffs. The average age of the QBs left in the NFC is 37.2, which is the oldest ever in this round. Tom Brady and Drew Brees are #1 and #2 on the list of oldest players still currently ...

Re: Football

Of the eight remaining teams, which would be the best “story” if they win the Super Bowl? The Ravens. Meh. Lamar Jackson is a fun QB to watch, but other than that... The Rams. After getting trounced a couple years back, they correct that. The Chiefs. They repeat on their way to being the next dynast...

Re: Hidden Gems

Two things; First off, somebody here(I’m 95% sure it was vyn, but I can’t find any topic/thread or post about them and it was almost 20 years ago) sold me a dozen GIJoe books back in the early 2000s at a very reasonable price. I just found them in my book logs and they’ve appreciated in value to the...

Re: Comics that cost a lot, but have no reason to

2nd printings of books. Batman 608. The first Hush issue. $18. The 2nd print is going for $100! So some Johnny-come-lately who jumped on the bandwagon after the fact gets rewarded with a better investment? Yeah yeah, I get the lower print run, supply demand yadda yadda. But I’m still gonna be mildly...

Re: Cataloging apps?

Finished logging my original 1980s thru 1995 collection. 15,284 books with a “value” of $111,712.

I might treat myself and actually read some comics. Instead of just sorting, bagging, boarding, filing and cataloging them....

Re: What have you watched lately?

They missed an opportunity for an Easter Egg by not giving that guy a name, any name, like Ted Kord or Kyle Rayner or something. I’m annoyed the guy playing POTUS looked or acted NOTHING like Ronald Reagan. The mid-credits stinger was a lovely touch. Given how they set it up in the movie, I was expe...

That’s probably what it is. It looks like it has unique cover art.

Re: Comics that cost a lot, but have no reason to

Somebody explain this math to me. The original Venom:Lethal Protector series. Six issues. First issue $15, 2nd is $5, 3rd is $3, 4 and 5 are $10 each, and 6th is also $5. Total “value” $48.

The TPB is going for $65...I don’t get it.

Re: Cataloging apps?

Today I found out I had the 1st Appearance of Boba Fett in comics(Star Wars #42) all these years. $100. I already knew I had the rare final issue because it was also Whilce Portacio’s first work. But $90 ain’t bad for that one either. The kicker is, I don’t remember how I got them. I bought someone’...

I wouldn’t bet against Hillary Swank showing up on Cobra Kai at some point. She’d do it just for the lolz.

Re: Cataloging apps?

As of today(Jan 1st) I’ve added a little over 10,000 books. I’m still in the first notebook, in the middle of the ‘S’s. The “worth” is just shy of $70k. That, as we all know, is misleading. There’s some turds in there that are valued at cover price, that wouldn’t earn a nickel if you tried selling t...
