Re: Still Spoiler Free! ( For the most part...)

As far as missing shots from trailers, that does happen from time to time. It's usually because trailers are edited long before the movie is finished. Kylo Ren igniting his saber in the snow, Rey zooming off on her speeder, the X-wings across the water, Finn taking off his helmet in the transport, a...

Re: What'cha readin', you illiterate fuck?

He also mentioned a few new alien species, like Abednedo, which appear a few times in TFA. Again, it's not so much that the plot has a huge impact on TFA, more that things like the politics help explain how the landscape of ROTJ became the landscape of TFA. The book has two sequels on the way that I...

Re: What'cha readin', you illiterate fuck?

As mentioned on FB, I'm about halfway through Aftermath and enjoying it. I can see how it's not for everyone, and it's not what was necessarily sold, but I find it fun. To some of your points: - Linking to TFA: No, it's not a point A to point B story starting at ROTJ and ending at TFA, it's about th...

Re: So, what toys did you buy or get this week?

I got Machine Man, CW Optimus Prime, and RiD Grimlock from some dummy today. The dude obviously didn't know what he had. Ha ha ha! I'm going to be laughing all week about how I conned that maroon-- Oh, Senor JJL, I didn't see you lurking there. Yeah, this guy was a genius to get rid of this shit, a...

Re: star wars

Having just bought the last of the eleven podracer pilots hasbro made, I found this guy making little kits for some of the others. His Ratts Tyerell seems to be the correct scale. Annyhoo, nothing else to add. Just thought I'd point to the website. Those look pretty cool. Hasbro made Ben Quadinaros...

Re: star wars

In 2003, Hasbro released a wave of figures with small speeders that included both "Anakin Skywalker's Swoop Bike" and "Count Dooku's Geonosian Speeder Bike," so at least back then they were using them at the same time. I really haven't seen them use "swoop" since then, ...

Re: How I realized I was over Star Wars completely

I have literally zero hopes for E7 or anything beyond. I won't deny that there's a bit of resentment over canning the EU. Which would be fine, if everyone busted their asses to try to top stuff like Shadows of the Empire, the Rogue Squadron series (both books and comics), the Thrawn Trilogy, and th...

Re: So, what toys did you buy or get this week?

I recently got all the Guardians figures for the same reason—I finally saw Rocket. I didn't get Nova or Iron Man and haven't seen them since so I'll check Amazon. I don't need them but I can't have a half-finished Groot here.

Re: star wars

For the first times since the brand was reintroduced in 1995, they had NOTHING to show at Toy Fair. So either they have nothing OR they didn't want to show any pics because all they've been working on is the new movie shit OR they're now saving them for San Diego. I've seen mention of a few OT Blac...

Re: star wars

Did they change the 3.75" cards? Today I saw two Yodas on a peg. One was the regular rectangular card. The other was a Stormtrooper head shaped card. Other than the card, they also changed the number. It looked like the same figure. If only I had oh-so-helpfully explained this at the top of th...

Re: Come with me if you want to live.

It seems like this is a complete and total reboot, using elements from the first two films, but recasting every actor except Arnold, who's here playing a Terminator who protected Sarah Connor growing up. The fuck? The trailer looks like middling shit, so I have no interest. Emilia Clarke may be a go...

Re: How I realized I was over Star Wars completely

Or, as SenorJabba would no doubt argue, 30+ years of technological refinement could've found a way to make TIE fighters atmosphere capable. No, I'd argue that the canon never said they couldn't fly in the atmosphere, just the EU, and furthermore that Rebels frequently shows TIE Fighters in the atmo...

Re: Figures you want that they'll never make (properly)

UHF Pee Wee's Big Adventure Firefly Pee Wee's Playhouse None of this super-deformed, retro-style, whatever. Real figures that kick ass and rank among the best of today's figures. And definitely none of the "one kickass figure, but he has no friends" bullshit, either. And definitely not th...

Re: HBO - True Detective

I recently watched it all and saw the finale last night. The series starts out so damn slow, but it works to establish the world and the pace of Southern livin'. It didn't really pick up for me until about halfway through the season, but by then it's compelling as hell. Lots of great, creepy imagery...

Ran wrote:I can't find the scene on youtube. Fran Drescher's character described it in the scene, but I'm not even sure if they showed the non-black version.
There are a few other covers that get shown for a second, like Shark Sandwich, but I'm pretty sure they don't show the non-black cover.
