Re: What's up with the pathetic remakes of shit

I saw the original Roadhouse once and can't remember anything about it other than Patrick Swayze was a bouncer at a bar. It came out on VHS (and probably Beta) while I was working at the video store. I don't remember it being any more popular than any other "new release" back then. I can't...

Re: Celebrity Death Pool!

When they don't give a cause, it seems like it is usually suicide.

M. Emmet Walsh passed away. He was one of those guys that was somehow in everything.

Re: Celebrity Death Pool!

Former NHL winger Chris Simon dies at age 52. No cause yet.

Does anyone else get a weird feeling when a pro athlete roughly our age passes away? Granted, Chris Simon was an enforcer, which has been known to shorten lifespans, but still...

Re: Winter Classic - Sabres vs. Penguins

On my drive home, I turned on the Sabres/Leafs game on XM. It was the Toronto feed since they were the home team. The play by play guys were ok. The people they had on during the intermission were horrible.

Re: What have you watched lately?

It took me several tries to get through the original Dune without falling asleep.

I tried watching Part 1 of the new Dune, but I couldn't concentrate on it and gave up.

Re: What's up with the pathetic remakes of shit

Does the original Crow movie hold up? I haven't seen it since it came out. I'm having trouble imagining Liam Neeson as Frank Drebin. I found a list of upcoming remakes/reboots/sequels. https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/1918ghq/2024_is_the_year_of_sequels_reboots_and_remakes/ Ghostbusters and ...

Re: Celebrity Death Pool!

A little more on Paul D'Amato...
Additionally, John Byrne, writer and artist of Marvel Comics’s “X-Men” in the '70s and '80s, was said to have based his look for Wolverine on D’Amato in “Slap Shot.”

Re: Netflix Original Series

The WB Harry Potter (not to be confused with a Netflix series, just providing info to compare with the last post) is going to apparently be 7 seasons taking place over 10 years. They are planning for it to to be the most expensive series ever, apparently. If it does well, Disney will announce they ...

Tom Foolery wrote: Sat Feb 17, 2024 10:13 am In conclusion, this movie should not be confused with Buckaroo Banzai.
Did I mention it has probably been 40 years since I've seen either of them?

The Confusius guy guiding someone rings a bell. And, I remember Buckaroo Banzai driving a car really fast through a mountain. That's about it.

Re: What have you watched lately?

My grade school let us watch Buckaroo Banzai, Remo Williams, and Condorman in class towards the end of the school year. It seems like Condorman is mostly forgotten about other than there being a glider in Disney Infinity. Maybe it wasn't any good.
